Glenora opened in 1977, making it one of the first farm wineries established in the Finger Lakes after New York’s Farm Winery Act. Over the decades it has expanded into a full destination property with an inn, the Veraisons restaurant, and an event spaceβ€”all perched above the western shore of Seneca Lake near Dundee. The original winery building and its broad deck remain one of the most photographed spots in the region.

The wine program leans toward crowd-pleasers: semi-dry Riesling, fruit wines, and sparkling wines produced in the Charmat method. Glenora’s dry wines have improved in recent years, and their Pinot Blanc is worth seeking out. The real value here is the full-package experience: check into the inn, eat dinner overlooking the lake, and walk to the tasting room without getting in a car. For visitors building a Seneca Lake trip, it serves as a convenient and comfortable home base.
